The Ecommerce Innovation Alliance (EIA) is a nonprofit trade association formed in 2023 that represents small and mid-sized U.S.-based e-commerce businesses, online retailers, marketplace sellers, and technology providers. The organization advocates for balanced, practical public policies that strengthen the e-commerce ecosystem while protecting consumer privacy, and works to educate lawmakers and regulators on the real-world impact of digital commerce regulations.
EIA focuses on legislative and regulatory issues affecting e-commerce, including telemarketing and TCPA compliance, data privacy, consumer protection, AI and digital marketing regulation, ADA website accessibility litigation, import tariffs and trade policy, and efforts to reduce abusive or predatory litigation targeting online businesses.
Primarily funded through annual membership dues from e-commerce retailers, technology solution providers, and businesses that support the e-commerce ecosystem.
Founded with support from Postscript; leadership includes David Carter, Elliot Ginsburg of Postscript, Gina Johnson of The Ridge Wallet, and executives from companies such as TUSHY and Fashion Nova.
