The Economic Policy Institute (EPI) is a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit research institute founded in 1986 that produces economic research and analysis focused on labor markets, wages, and public policies intended to improve economic outcomes for low- and middle-income workers and promote broadly shared prosperity.
Labor and employment policy, minimum wage and pay equity, collective bargaining and union rights, unemployment insurance and benefits, tax and budget policy with a distributional focus, trade and industrial policy evaluated for worker impacts, and research on economic inequality and labor market regulation.
