Equality Virginia is a statewide nonprofit advocacy organization that works to advance the civil rights, safety, and well‑being of LGBTQ+ people in Virginia through public education, policy advocacy, community organizing, and electoral engagement.
Advocates for LGBTQ+ nondiscrimination protections in employment, housing, and public accommodations; transgender rights including healthcare access and identity documents; anti‑bullying and inclusive school policies; HIV/AIDS prevention and care policy; and related criminal justice and family law reforms affecting LGBTQ+ communities.
Primarily funded by individual donations, philanthropic foundations, membership contributions, and fundraising events.
