The Equity Markets Association (EMA) is a U.S.-based trade association established in 2015 to provide federal policymakers, regulators, and investors with analysis and research on issues affecting the U.S. equity markets. Founded by Intercontinental Exchange (parent of NYSE) and Nasdaq, and later joined by Cboe Global Markets, EMA promotes policies that safeguard transparent markets, incentivize capital formation, and support a robust secondary market for securities trading.
EMA advocates for policies related to equity market structure, exchange self-regulation, securities market transparency, market data governance, proxy governance, corporate and investor disclosures, cybersecurity resilience, and the preservation of the self-regulatory organization model under SEC oversight.
Funded primarily by its member exchanges, including Intercontinental Exchange, Nasdaq, and Cboe Global Markets.
