The Family Heart Foundation is a patient-focused nonprofit dedicated to saving generations of families from heart disease through early identification and improved care of familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) and elevated lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a). It uses research, advocacy, and education to improve diagnosis, treatment, and awareness.
Health care policy related to cardiovascular disease prevention, genetic and inherited lipid disorders, screening and early diagnosis, access to testing and treatment, patient education, and quality measures for FH and Lp(a).
Primarily supported by charitable donations, grants, and fundraising contributions from individuals and institutional supporters.
Formerly known as the Familial Hypercholesterolemia Foundation; affiliated with patient advocacy and cardiovascular health networks, including the National Health Council. Public-facing materials also reference leaders and medical experts involved in advocacy and education efforts.
