About the Organization

Family Action Network Movement (FANM), formerly known as Fanm Ayisyen Nan Miyami (Haitian Women of Miami), is a Miami-based nonprofit organization founded in 1991 that works to empower low- to moderate-income families, particularly within the Haitian-American community. The organization provides social services, community development programs, and civic engagement initiatives focused on social, economic, financial, and political empowerment.

Policy Goals

Immigration reform, Temporary Protected Status and DACA advocacy, family reunification policies, workers’ rights, living wage and wage theft enforcement, education reform, health access, gender equality, housing rights, and broader human rights protections.

Funding

Primarily supported through government grants and contracts, foundation grants, private donations, and community fundraising events.

Affiliates

Founded and led by Marleine Bastien; affiliated with the Florida Immigrant Coalition and the Haitian-American Grassroots Coalition.
