About the Organization

Florida National Organization for Women (FL NOW) is the Florida state chapter of the National Organization for Women, a grassroots feminist advocacy group that advances gender equality and civil rights through public education, lobbying, and community organizing; its work focuses on reproductive freedom, economic and workplace equity, ending gender-based violence, LGBTQ+ equality, and expanding political participation for women and marginalized groups.

Policy Goals

Reproductive rights and access to abortion and contraception; enforcement of civil rights and anti-discrimination laws, including support for the Equal Rights Amendment; pay equity and workplace fairness; prevention of sexual and domestic violence and survivor services; LGBTQ+ equality; access to affordable health care; voting rights and civic engagement; intersectional racial and economic justice initiatives.

Funding

Primarily individual membership dues and small-dollar donations, fundraising events, and occasional grants; operates as a nonprofit advocacy chapter reliant on grassroots support.
