The Florida Association of Counties (FAC) is a statewide nonprofit organization that represents and advocates on behalf of Florida’s 67 county governments. Its mission is to strengthen counties’ ability to serve their communities by promoting effective local governance, providing policy guidance, and advocating for county interests before the state and federal governments.
FAC typically pursues policies related to local government authority, home rule, public finance and taxation, infrastructure funding, public safety, emergency management, health and human services, land use, environmental regulation, and intergovernmental relations.
Primarily funded through membership dues paid by Florida’s county governments, along with revenue from conferences, training programs, and sponsorships.
Affiliated with Florida’s 67 county governments and works in coordination with the National Association of Counties (NACo) and county commissioners statewide.
