About the Organization

The Florida House Democratic Caucus is the formal group of Democratic members of the Florida House of Representatives. The caucus coordinates legislative strategy, policy priorities, messaging and member services for House Democrats, seeks to advance Democratic policy goals in Tallahassee, supports members with research and communications, and works with allied organizations to recruit and elect Democratic candidates to the Florida House.

Policy Goals

Typically pursues Democratic priorities at the state level such as increased investment in public education, expanded access to health care and Medicaid, protection of reproductive rights, voting access and election administration reforms, environmental protection and climate resilience for Florida communities, workers' rights and minimum wage/benefits policies, criminal justice reform, and affordable housing and transportation initiatives.

Funding

The caucus’s activities are supported through a combination of member resources and legislative staff support; electoral and campaign work is funded through affiliated fundraising vehicles and committees (notably the Florida House Democratic Campaign Committee), grassroots and individual donations, and coordinated support from the Florida Democratic Party and allied political organizations.

Florida Democratic Party; Florida Senate Democratic Caucus; the Florida House Democratic Campaign Committee (FHDCC) and other affiliated campaign committees; chartered Democratic caucuses and interest caucuses in the state (e.g., Black, Hispanic/Latino, LGBTQ+, labor caucuses); state and national Democratic party leadership.
