Description: The Florida Justice Reform Institute (FJRI) is a Tallahassee-based advocacy organization, created in 2005 as a project of the Florida Chamber of Commerce, that promotes changes to Florida's civil justice system. FJRI’s stated mission is to reduce what it describes as abusive or wasteful litigation, restore predictability to tort law, and advance legislative and regulatory reforms intended to limit liability exposure for businesses and insurers. Type: Non-profit advocacy and lobbying organization affiliated with the Florida Chamber of Commerce Policies: Focused on civil justice and tort reform, including limits on liability and damage awards, reforms to personal injury protection (PIP) and auto insurance rules, construction-defect and premises-liability changes, curbs on assignment-of-benefit and consumer litigation practices, transparency in medical damages, and other business‑friendly litigation and procedural reforms.
