About the Organization

The Florida Mosquito Control Association (FMCA) is a not-for-profit, membership organization of mosquito control professionals, public health practitioners, entomologists, researchers and industry partners. Its mission is to promote effective, science-based and environmentally sound control of disease‑vector and nuisance mosquitoes in Florida through training, research, public education and policy advocacy.

Policy Goals

Advocates for state and local funding for mosquito control districts, statutory authority for district operations, regulatory approval and responsible use of vector control tools (larvicides, adulticides, biological controls), support for surveillance and outbreak-response capacity, workforce training and certification, and research partnerships to reduce mosquito‑borne disease risk and nuisance impacts.

Funding

Primarily funded by member dues (local mosquito control agencies, individual professionals, industry sustaining members), annual conference and training fees, publications and event sponsorships from vector control manufacturers and service providers.

Affiliates

State and local mosquito control districts across Florida, the American Mosquito Control Association, Florida Department of Health, University of Florida IFAS and other academic/public health research partners, and private vector control manufacturers and service providers.
