The Freedom BLOC (Black Led Organizing Collaborative) is a Black-led grassroots organization based in Akron, Ohio, that works to build political power and leadership within Black communities across the state. Its mission is to strengthen civic engagement, expand voter education and turnout, develop community leadership, and advance social, racial, and economic justice through organizing and policy advocacy.
Voting rights and election access, criminal justice reform, racial equity, economic justice, housing equity, community reinvestment, and policies aimed at increasing civic participation and Black political representation in Ohio.
Primarily funded through individual donations, grants, and foundation support.
