The Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL) is the national public policy advocacy office of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) in the United States. Founded in 1943, FCNL works to translate Quaker values into federal policy through lobbying, grassroots organizing, testimony to Congress, and leadership development, with an emphasis on peacebuilding, justice, and stewardship of the Earth.
Federal policies promoting peace and nonviolence (including arms control and reduced militarization), diplomacy and humane foreign policy, nuclear disarmament, criminal justice reform and racial justice, immigration and refugee protections, climate and environmental justice, democratic participation and voting rights, civil liberties, and equitable federal budget priorities
Primarily financed by individual donors and Quaker meeting/member contributions, supplemented by philanthropic foundation grants, event and program fees, and occasional major gifts
