About the Organization

A global, interdisciplinary nonprofit organization focused on informing policy, practice, and research at the intersection of behavioral health, social justice, human rights, and well-being. Founded in 1923 as the American Orthopsychiatric Association and renamed in 2016, it convenes professionals through publications, conferences, task forces, and advocacy.

Policy Goals

Behavioral health, mental health, social justice, human rights, health equity, children and families, workforce issues, global mental health, and policies addressing disparities in health and social outcomes.
