The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) is the professional association for men and women who manage and maintain golf courses. Founded in 1926 and headquartered in Lawrence, Kansas, GCSAA provides education, certification, research, resources and advocacy to advance the science of turfgrass management, promote environmental stewardship, and support the professional development of its members.
Typically pursues policies affecting turfgrass management, pesticide and fertilizer regulation, water use and water-quality rules, stormwater and runoff standards, environmental and conservation programs, workforce and workforce-development initiatives, pesticide applicator licensing and training, small-business and tax issues affecting course operations, and funding for turf research and best management practices.
Primarily funded by membership dues, revenue from the annual conference and trade show, exhibitor and corporate sponsorship fees, educational and certification program fees, publications and merchandise sales, and philanthropic support routed through the GCSAA Foundation.
