The GPS Innovation Alliance (GPSIA) is a Washington, D.C.-based trade association that promotes, protects, and enhances the use of Global Positioning System (GPS), Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), and complementary space-based position, navigation, and timing (PNT) technologies. It advocates for policies that safeguard these systems from harmful interference and supports innovation and entrepreneurship in GPS-enabled industries critical to public safety, infrastructure, and the global economy.
Protection of GPS and GNSS spectrum from interference, prevention of jamming and spoofing, modernization and resilience of satellite-based positioning and timing systems, support for commercial space-based PNT technologies, and policies advancing innovation in agriculture, transportation, aviation, emergency response, telecommunications, and critical infrastructure sectors.
Membership dues from technology companies and industry stakeholders in the GPS, GNSS, and PNT sectors.
Member companies include Apple, Deere & Company, Garmin, Lockheed Martin, NovAtel, Trimble, and TrustPoint. Affiliate organizations have included the Alliance for Automotive Innovation, American Council of the Blind, American Trucking Associations, Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), BoatUS, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, National Society of Professional Surveyors, NENA: The 9-1-1 Association, and U.S. Geospatial Executives Organization.
