Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees (GCIR) is a national philanthropy-serving organization founded in 1990 that mobilizes and connects funders to advance immigrant and refugee justice in the United States. GCIR informs, convenes, and catalyzes philanthropic institutions to increase and coordinate grantmaking that supports immigrant and refugee communities, strengthens advocacy and power-building efforts, and promotes belonging and equity.
Immigration and refugee policy, immigrant justice and belonging, economic justice and workforce inclusion, labor and work authorization policies affecting DACA recipients and asylum seekers, state and local integration initiatives, civic engagement, and philanthropic advocacy related to immigrant and refugee rights.
Primarily funded through charitable contributions and grants from foundations and philanthropic institutions, with the majority of revenue derived from donor contributions.
