The HealthCare Institute of New Jersey (HINJ) is a trade association that serves as the voice for New Jersey’s research-based biopharmaceutical and medical technology companies. It advocates for the state’s life sciences sector and promotes patient access to medical innovation, economic growth, and a supportive research environment.
Healthcare, life sciences, biomedical innovation, patient access to medicines and therapies, research and development policy, STEM education, economic development, workforce and innovation ecosystem issues, and state and federal regulatory and legislative advocacy affecting biopharmaceutical and medical technology companies.
Primarily funded by member dues and support from its member life sciences companies.
Member companies include major biopharmaceutical and medical technology firms such as AbbVie, Amgen, AstraZeneca, Bayer, BD, BioMarin, GSK, Johnson & Johnson, Lilly, Merck, Novartis, Novo Nordisk, Organon, Otsuka, Pfizer, PTC Therapeutics, Sanofi, and Scynexis. Current president and CEO is Chrissy Buteas.
