Healthcare-NOW is a U.S.-based grassroots nonprofit advocacy organization that promotes a single-payer, publicly financed national health care system (commonly described as Medicare for All) to achieve universal, equitable access to health care and to remove profit-driven incentives from the delivery and financing of care.
Advocacy for single-payer / Medicare for All and other universal coverage measures, expansion and public financing of health care programs, prescription drug pricing reform, health equity and anti-discrimination in care, opposition to further privatization of public health programs.
Primarily supported by individual and grassroots donations, membership contributions, small-donor fundraising and occasional foundation grants.
Works in coalition with other single-payer and progressive health-justice groups and labor allies, including organizations such as Physicians for a National Health Program and National Nurses United, as well as local Medicare-for-All advocacy groups and movement leaders.
