The Hepatitis C Mentor and Support Group (HCMSG) is a New York–based nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals affected by hepatitis C and other liver diseases through peer education, advocacy, and support services. The organization works to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and promote access to prevention, testing, and treatment services, particularly among underserved and high-risk communities.
HCMSG typically advocates for expanded access to hepatitis C screening and treatment, harm reduction services, public health funding, Medicaid and insurance coverage for antiviral medications, criminal justice health reform, and policies aimed at reducing health disparities and stigma associated with infectious diseases.
HCMSG is primarily funded through government grants, foundation grants, and private donations.
HCMSG collaborates with public health departments, community-based health organizations, harm reduction coalitions, and liver health advocacy groups in New York and nationally.
