The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) is a U.S.-based civil rights organization that works to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people through advocacy, lobbying, public education, research, and electoral activity.
Advocates for federal and state nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ people, transgender rights and healthcare access, marriage and family equality, workplace equality and the Corporate Equality Index, HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, inclusive education, criminal justice reforms related to hate crimes, and candidate endorsements and campaign engagement on LGBTQ issues
Primarily funded by individual donations and membership dues, supplemented by corporate sponsorships and fees for programs and events, foundation grants, and PAC contributions for electoral activity
