The Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA) is a national trade association representing independent oil and natural gas producers in the United States. Founded in 1929, its mission is to advocate for policies that promote responsible domestic energy production, support independent producers, and enhance American energy security.
IPAA advocates for expanded domestic oil and natural gas exploration and production, favorable tax and regulatory policies for independent producers, streamlined permitting processes, access to federal lands and offshore resources, infrastructure development including pipelines, and opposition to regulations it views as burdensome to the oil and gas industry.
