About the Organization

The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) is a professional medical association of clinicians, scientists, and public health experts focused on infectious diseases. Its mission is to improve health by promoting excellence in patient care, education, research, public health, and prevention related to infectious disease.

Policy Goals

Infectious disease prevention and treatment, antimicrobial stewardship, antibiotic resistance, outbreak preparedness and response, vaccination, public health surveillance, research funding, health equity, and Medicare/payment policies affecting infectious disease care.

Funding

Primarily membership dues, journal and educational activities, grants, and philanthropic support through its charitable foundation; it also receives some industry and program support.
