The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) is the global trade association for the shopping‑center and retail real estate industry. Founded in 1957, it advances the interests of owners, developers, managers, brokers, investors, retailers and public officials by providing industry research, education, networking, events and advocacy to promote marketplaces as economic and community assets.
Advocacy on zoning, land use and permitting; commercial real estate development and redevelopment; tax policy affecting retail and property (sales and property tax, incentives); transportation, parking and access policies; public safety and organized retail crime prevention; commercial leasing and tenant/landlord regulation; labor and workforce issues affecting retail operations; sustainability and building/energy codes relevant to retail properties.
Primarily membership dues from shopping center owners, developers, managers, brokers and retailers, plus conference and event fees, sponsorships, publications and program revenues.
National and regional shopping‑center councils and industry members, including major mall owners and developers (for example large institutional owners and REITs), corporate sponsors and industry leaders who serve on ICSC boards and committees.
