About the Organization

Internet Works is a Washington, D.C.-based trade association and industry coalition representing small- and mid-sized online platforms (“middle tech”). It advocates for right-sized technology policy that preserves innovation, supports effective content moderation and trust-and-safety practices, protects user privacy and security, and ensures medium-sized tech companies have a voice in federal and state policymaking.

Policy Goals

Intermediary liability and Section 230 reform; content moderation, trust & safety; privacy and data security; artificial intelligence policy; competition and antitrust; platform/app store regulation; child safety and online harms legislation.

Funding

Primarily funded by membership dues and fees from member technology companies, supplemented by sponsorships and event revenue.

Affiliates

Member companies including Automattic, Discord, Dropbox, eBay, Etsy, Indeed, Nextdoor, Reddit, Pinterest, Roblox, TripAdvisor, Vimeo, GitLab, Strava, Mozilla, Trustpilot; board leaders such as Laura Bisesto (Nextdoor), Matt Jensen (Indeed), Caitlin Brosseau (Tripadvisor), Erika Barros (Vimeo), and Executive Director Peter Chandler.
