About the Organization

The Jewish War Veterans of the USA (JWV) is a national veterans service organization founded in 1896 to support Jewish American veterans, advocate for their rights and benefits, combat antisemitism, and promote patriotism and American democratic values. The organization provides assistance to veterans and their families, engages in community service, and educates the public about the contributions of Jewish Americans to the U.S. Armed Forces.

Policy Goals

Veterans’ health care and benefits, military and national defense policy, protection of religious freedom, combating antisemitism and hate crimes, preservation of Holocaust remembrance, and support for U.S.-Israel relations

Funding

Membership dues, charitable donations, foundation grants, and proceeds from fundraising activities

Affiliates

Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary, Department of Veterans Affairs advisory committees, and partnerships with other national veterans service organizations such as the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars
