The Laborers' International Union of North America (LIUNA) is a labor union representing hundreds of thousands of workers in the construction, energy, manufacturing, public service, and environmental remediation sectors across the United States and Canada. Its mission is to advocate for fair wages, benefits, safe working conditions, and strong labor standards while promoting workforce development and apprenticeship training programs.
LIUNA typically pursues policies related to workers’ rights, prevailing wage laws, infrastructure investment, project labor agreements, workplace safety standards, collective bargaining rights, energy and environmental projects that create union jobs, and retirement and healthcare benefits for union members.
The organization is primarily funded through membership dues and related union fees.
