About the Organization

The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) is a national nonprofit civil rights organization founded in 1929 that promotes the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, housing, health, and civil rights of Hispanic Americans through community programs, advocacy, public policy, and civic engagement.

Policy Goals

Immigration reform and pathways to citizenship, voting rights and voter access, education equity and bilingual education, civil-rights and anti-discrimination policy, economic opportunity and workforce development, health equity, criminal justice reform, census participation and Latino political representation.

Funding

Membership dues, individual donations, foundation grants, corporate sponsorships, and fundraising events.

Affiliates

Local LULAC councils and LULAC National Educational Service Centers; frequent partners include UnidosUS (formerly NCLR), MALDEF, NALEO Educational Fund, the Hispanic Federation, and numerous Latino elected officials and community leaders.
