About the Organization

The League of Women Voters of the United States is a nonpartisan, grassroots civic organization founded in 1920 that works to promote informed and active participation in government through voter education and registration, public policy study, and advocacy for democratic reforms.

Policy Goals

Typically pursues policies related to voting rights and access, election administration and redistricting reform, campaign finance transparency, civic education and engagement, government accountability, and related public policy issues where it conducts nonpartisan research and advocacy.

Funding

Primarily funded by membership dues, individual donations, foundation grants, and program revenue, with tax-deductible support routed to its affiliated education fund for educational activities.
