About the Organization

March For Our Lives is a youth-led nonprofit movement founded by survivors of the 2018 Parkland school shooting that organizes advocacy, education, litigation, and mass mobilization to reduce gun violence and advance stronger gun‑safety laws and youth civic engagement.

Policy Goals

Federal and state gun‑violence prevention and gun‑safety laws (universal background checks, assault weapons and high‑capacity magazine restrictions, raising minimum purchase ages, licensing/registration proposals, red‑flag/extreme risk protection orders, safe storage and school safety measures), youth voter registration and civic engagement, strategic litigation defending gun‑safety laws.

Funding

Primarily individual donations including small‑dollar crowdfunding, high‑profile celebrity and major donor contributions, philanthropic grants; action/advocacy activities funded through donations to its 501(c)(4) arm.

Affiliates

Survivor founders and spokespeople (e.g., X González (Emma González), David Hogg, Cameron Kasky, Jaclyn Corin, Delaney Tarr), allied advocacy groups (Everytown for Gun Safety, Moms Demand Action), and high‑profile donors/supporters (e.g., George and Amal Clooney, Oprah Winfrey, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Steven Spielberg, various entertainers and public figures).
