About the Organization

MASSPIRG (Massachusetts Public Interest Research Group) is a statewide, nonpartisan public interest advocacy organization that conducts research, grassroots organizing, and lobbying to advance consumer protection, environmental protection, public health and safety, transportation access, higher-education affordability, and democracy reforms in Massachusetts.

Policy Goals

Consumer protection and product safety; clean energy, climate and air quality policy; public transit and transportation policy; public health and safety; higher education affordability and student consumer rights; corporate accountability; campaign finance and voting rights reforms.

Funding

Primarily small individual donations and foundation grants, supplemented by fundraising programs and voluntary student activity fees collected through affiliated campus PIRG programs.
