About the Organization

me too. International is a survivor‑led global nonprofit founded by Tarana Burke that serves as the formal organizational vehicle for the #MeToo movement. The organization centers survivor healing, leadership, and grassroots organizing to end sexual and gender‑based violence, with particular attention to Black, Indigenous, queer, trans, disabled, immigrant and other marginalized communities.

Policy Goals

Pursues survivor‑centered legislative and policy change including sexual and gender‑based violence prevention, expanded trauma‑informed health and mental‑health services, workplace harassment protections and enforcement, education and prevention programs, criminal‑legal reform and community‑based alternatives to incarceration, LGBTQ+ and immigrant survivor protections, and international capacity building for survivor‑led movements.

Funding

Primarily funded through philanthropic grants and foundation support, individual donations and partner fundraising, with additional support from allied nonprofit and corporate partnerships.

Affiliates

Founded and led by Tarana Burke; collaborates with survivor coalitions such as the Survivors' Agenda and the Survivor Justice Network and partners including National Women's Law Center, Justice for Migrant Women and Girls for Gender Equity; high‑profile supporters and advisors have included figures on the organization's Disruptors Council such as Ai‑jen Poo, Ayanna Pressley, Viola Davis, Gabrielle Union and Padma Lakshmi.
