About the Organization

Medicare for All Florida is a grassroots, volunteer-run not-for-profit organization that organizes Floridians to advocate for a single-payer, universal Medicare for All system. The group hosts statewide virtual town halls and events, builds local support through resolutions and outreach, and works to advance state and federal proposals to guarantee healthcare at the point of service.

Policy Goals

Advocates for federal, state, and local single-payer/Medicare for All legislation and implementing measures; promotes local government resolutions endorsing universal healthcare; supports bills to cap out-of-pocket drug costs and to resist Medicare privatization; engages in candidate outreach and grassroots organizing to advance universal coverage.

Funding

Primarily funded by individual donations, membership dues and small grassroots contributions, event registration fees, and volunteer support.

Affiliates

Works with national and state advocacy groups such as Healthcare NOW, Public Citizen, Students for a National Health Program (SNaHP), Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP), and local labor coalitions; has hosted or featured elected officials supportive of Medicare for All including U.S. Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick and state lawmakers such as Sen. Carlos Guillermo Smith.
