The Michigan AFL-CIO is the statewide federation of labor unions affiliated with the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO). It represents hundreds of local unions and advocates on behalf of working people across Michigan to improve wages, benefits, workplace safety, and economic opportunity.
The organization advocates for pro-labor legislation including collective bargaining rights, prevailing wage laws, workplace safety standards, unemployment insurance, workers’ compensation, public employee protections, healthcare access, retirement security, civil rights, and policies that promote job creation and economic equity.
