About the Organization

The Military Chaplains Association of the United States of America (MCA) is a congressionally chartered professional and veterans service organization founded in 1925. MCA represents active, reserve, retired, and VA chaplains across the Army, Navy, Air Force and Civil Air Patrol; promotes the religious freedom and spiritual welfare of service members, veterans, families and survivors; and provides professional development, education, scholarships and referral services for those serving in military chaplaincy.

Policy Goals

Advocacy for religious freedom and free exercise in the military, protection of chaplains' endorsement and conscience rights, chaplaincy staffing and resourcing, professional education and credentialing for chaplains, veterans' spiritual care and VA chaplaincy services, and related DoD/VA administrative and regulatory policies affecting military chaplains.

Funding

Primarily funded by membership dues, individual donations and charitable contributions, fundraising and program fees; also supports scholarships and activities through donations and sustaining memberships.

Affiliates

Armed Forces Chaplains Board and service Chief of Chaplains offices, Department of Veterans Affairs chaplaincy, partner faith endorsing bodies and the MCA 'Veteran/Military Friendly Congregations' network and other military chaplain and veterans service organizations.
