About the Organization

The Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy is a nonprofit public-interest environmental law and policy organization that uses legal action, policy advocacy, and public education to protect Minnesota’s air, water, land, and climate and to advance environmental justice for affected communities.

Policy Goals

State and regional environmental protection policies including clean energy and climate action, air and water quality standards, pollution enforcement, public lands and habitat conservation, land-use and transportation policy, and environmental justice initiatives.

Funding

Primary funding from foundation grants and individual donations, supplemented by membership contributions, project-specific grants, and occasional attorneys' fees or settlement funds from litigation.

Affiliates

Regularly partners with state and local environmental and conservation organizations, community and environmental-justice groups, and pro bono legal partners to coordinate litigation and policy campaigns.
