About the Organization

Minority Health Institute, Inc. is a California-based nonprofit organization founded in 1987 by cardiologist Dr. Richard Allen Williams to eliminate healthcare disparities and improve the quality and longevity of life for people of color. The Institute conducts research, education, advocacy, and community engagement initiatives focused on advancing health equity and elevating standards of care for underserved populations.

Policy Goals

Health equity and disparity reduction, minority health research, cardiovascular and chronic disease prevention, equitable access to care, Medicare and insurance policy reform, and culturally competent healthcare delivery
