About the Organization

The Mississippi Bankers Association is the state trade association representing commercial banks and savings institutions in Mississippi. Founded in 1889, it provides member services including legislative and regulatory advocacy, industry education and training, publications, compliance resources, and networking to support a healthy state banking sector.

Policy Goals

State and federal banking regulation and supervision, tax and economic policy affecting financial institutions, workforce development and training, consumer financial policy as it affects banks, community development and CRA implementation, payments and fintech issues, cybersecurity and anti-money laundering compliance, small business lending and agricultural finance

Funding

Primarily funded by membership dues from banks and savings institutions, event and conference fees, sponsorships and advertising, and fees for training and services

Affiliates

American Bankers Association, regional/state banking and mortgage trade groups, major Mississippi member banks and financial institutions (e.g., Trustmark, BankPlus and other statewide banks), and association leadership such as the President/CEO and government relations officers
