About the Organization

The Missouri Asian American Youth Foundation (MAAY Foundation) is a Missouri-based nonprofit that trains and empowers Asian American and Pacific Islander youth through civic education, leadership development, voter engagement, mental health resource mapping, and community-building programs to increase AAPI representation and civic participation across the state.

Policy Goals

Supports policies that expand voter access and language access, anti-hate and anti-discrimination protections for AAPI communities, culturally competent mental-health services and funding, youth leadership and education initiatives (including AAPI history and civic curricula), and initiatives that promote immigrant and refugee integration and local workforce retention for young professionals.

Funding

Primarily funded by philanthropic grants, individual donations and small fundraising events; supplemental support from program fees and community partnerships.

Affiliates

Founder & President Caroline Fan; partnerships with local AAPI and civic organizations including the Asian American Chamber of Commerce – St. Louis, the International Institute of St. Louis, ArtsKC and other regional community and youth-serving groups.
