Missouri Grocers Association

About the Organization

The Missouri Grocers Association is a non-profit trade association that represents grocery retailers, wholesalers, distributors and suppliers in Missouri. It works to advance the industry’s commercial interests through advocacy, member education, training, regulatory guidance, and industry best practices.

Policy Goals

Typically pursues legislative and regulatory policies affecting grocery retail such as food safety and labeling, SNAP and other food assistance programs, sales and excise taxes, alcohol and tobacco licensing, labor and employment issues (wages, scheduling, workforce training), supply‑chain and transportation policy, zoning and local permitting, and environmental/packaging regulations.

Funding

Primarily funded by membership dues from grocery retailers, wholesalers and supplier companies, supplemented by event sponsorships, conference and training fees, and other member services.

Affiliates

Works with national and state grocer trade groups, state and local chambers of commerce, regional supermarket chains and independent grocers in Missouri as well as industry suppliers and service providers.
