The NAACP New England Area Conference is the regional branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People serving the six New England states. It coordinates local chapters and community organizing to advance civil rights, racial equity, legal protections, and political empowerment for Black people and other marginalized communities in the region.
Typically pursues policies on voting rights and access, criminal justice reform and police accountability, anti-discrimination and civil rights protections, education equity, economic and housing justice, healthcare access, immigrant rights, and civic engagement and leadership development.
Primarily funded by membership dues, individual and philanthropic donations, grants, fundraising events, and occasional corporate or foundation support.
Affiliated with the NAACP national organization and the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, local New England NAACP branches and chapters, regional civil rights and community advocacy groups, and partnerships with labor unions and progressive policy organizations.
