The National Abortion Federation (NAF) is a nonprofit professional association of abortion providers in the United States and Canada. NAF’s stated mission is to advance safe, legal, accessible abortion care by setting clinical standards, providing training and technical assistance, conducting research, and offering legal and risk-management support for providers and patients.
Typically advocates for protecting and expanding access to abortion and related reproductive health services, opposing criminalization and restrictive regulations of providers and patients, promoting evidence-based clinical standards and patient-safety practices, and supporting funding and legal protections for reproductive healthcare.
Primarily funded through membership dues, foundation grants, individual donations, and fees for training and professional services.
Prominent allied organizations include Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Abortion Care Network, National Network of Abortion Funds, Center for Reproductive Rights, and the ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project.
