About the Organization

The National Animal Interest Alliance (NAIA) is a Portland, Oregon-based nonprofit organization founded in 1991 that promotes animal welfare, responsible animal ownership, and the humane use of animals while strengthening the human-animal bond. The organization works to distinguish animal welfare from animal rights ideology and advocates for policies that protect the rights of responsible animal owners and animal professionals.

Policy Goals

NAIA supports legislation and public policies that promote responsible and humane animal ownership and use, including animal husbandry, breeding, agriculture, hunting and fishing, animal research, and companion animal ownership.
