The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) is a U.S. trade association representing retail pharmacy organizations and their supplier partners. NACDS advocates for policies that support pharmacy-based patient care, access to prescription medicines, public health services delivered in community pharmacies, and a resilient pharmaceutical supply chain.
Pharmacy regulation and practice, prescription drug access and affordability, pharmacy reimbursement under Medicare and Medicaid, pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) reform, scope of practice and provider status for pharmacists, immunization and public health initiatives, controlled-substances diversion prevention, drug supply chain and FDA/DEA policy
Primarily funded by membership dues and sponsorships from retail pharmacy companies, independent pharmacies, and industry supplier partners; revenue from conferences and events also contributes
Member organizations include major retail pharmacy chains and regional chains (e.g., CVS Health, Walgreens Boots Alliance, Rite Aid, Walmart Pharmacy), independent and long-term care pharmacy members, pharmacy suppliers, and state pharmacy associations
