The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is a U.S. trade association representing home builders, remodelers, and residential construction professionals. NAHB’s stated mission is to promote policies that support housing production and affordability, strengthen the residential construction industry, and advance the interests of its members through advocacy, research, education, and industry events.
Advocates for policies affecting housing supply and affordability, land use and zoning reform, building codes and standards, energy and resilience standards, mortgage finance and housing finance policy, tax incentives and deductions for builders and homeowners, workforce and immigration policies impacting skilled labor, permitting and infrastructure reform, and disaster mitigation funding.
Primarily funded by member dues and subscriptions, revenue from events and industry trade shows, sponsorships and advertising, paid education and publications, and financial support channeled through its political action committee.
State and local home builders associations, BUILD-PAC (NAHB’s federal political action committee), industry research affiliate Home Innovation Research Labs (formerly the NAHB Research Center), and various regional and national industry partners.
