About the Organization

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is the largest U.S. manufacturing trade association, representing small and large manufacturers across sectors. NAM advocates for public policies intended to strengthen domestic manufacturing competitiveness, promote investment and innovation, and support workforce development and economic growth.

Policy Goals

Tax and regulatory reform favorable to manufacturers; trade and export promotion; energy and infrastructure policy to reduce costs; workforce development and training; supply chain resilience and industrial policy; technology, innovation, and R&D incentives.

Funding

Primarily funded by membership dues and fees from manufacturing companies, corporate sponsorships and events, and related advocacy and PAC contributions.

Affiliates

State and local manufacturing associations, NAM PAC (its political action committee), coalition partners among U.S. business and industry groups, and member-company executives who serve on its board and councils.

Legal Structure

Trade association / nonprofit business lobby (organized as a 501(c)(6) membership organization).
