The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) is a professional association representing fee-only, fiduciary financial advisors in the United States. Founded in 1983, its mission is to promote independent, objective financial planning delivered in the public interest and to uphold high standards of ethics, competency, and fiduciary responsibility among its members.
NAPFA advocates for policies that strengthen the fiduciary standard in financial services, promote consumer protection in financial planning and investment advice, enhance professional and ethical standards for financial advisors, and support transparency and fee-only compensation models in the financial services industry.
Primarily funded through membership dues, conference and event fees, educational programs, sponsorships, and related professional development activities.
