The National Association of Realtors (NAR) is a U.S. trade association representing real estate brokers, agents, and other industry professionals; it promotes homeownership, sets professional standards and ethics for Realtors®, provides education and research, and advocates on federal and state housing and real estate issues on behalf of its members.
Advocacy on housing and homeownership policy, mortgage finance and lending rules, tax policy affecting homeowners and brokers, licensing and professional standards for real estate practitioners, zoning and land-use regulations, MLS and listing access rules, consumer protection and disclosure requirements, and industry-related antitrust and data/privacy issues.
Primarily funded by member dues and fees, revenue from education and certification programs, event and conference registrations and sponsorships, publications and business services, and related commercial activities.
State and local Realtor associations, the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC), multiple listing service (MLS) organizations and other industry partnerships and major national brokerages that participate in NAR programs.
