The National Association of Realtors (NAR) is the largest U.S. trade association representing real estate professionals. It advocates for property ownership, professional standards and ethics for its members, market access for brokers and agents, and public policies intended to support housing markets and homeownership.
Advocacy for homeownership and housing finance (mortgage market stability, GSE policy), tax provisions affecting homeowners and brokers (e.g., mortgage interest and capital gains treatment), real estate licensing and regulation, rules governing commissions and multiple listing services, land use and zoning, insurance and disaster-relief policy affecting property, fair housing compliance and consumer protection, and political engagement through its PAC.
Primarily member dues and fees for services, education and events, publications and conferences; political activity is supported by voluntary member contributions through the Realtors Political Action Committee (RPAC).
