About the Organization

The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) is the largest U.S. trade association for real estate professionals, representing residential and commercial brokers, salespeople, property managers, appraisers and others. NAR's stated mission is to empower REALTORS® as they preserve, protect and advance the right to real property for all and to provide professional standards, education, research and advocacy on behalf of its members.

Policy Goals

Advocacy on housing and homeownership policy, property rights, real estate licensing and regulation, mortgage and housing finance (including GSE/FHA issues), tax policy affecting homeowners and brokers, zoning and land-use, MLS and data policies, consumer protection and fair housing, and regulatory/antitrust matters affecting brokerage practices

Funding

Primarily funded by member dues and fees, revenue from services and products (including MLS/RPR access, education and certification, conferences and publications), advertising and sponsorships; political spending and candidate contributions are channeled through its separate PAC (RPAC)

Affiliates

State and local REALTOR® associations, REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC), Realtors Property Resource (RPR) and NAR's affiliated institutes, societies and councils
